Welcome back, Lunatics. Sorry for the delay in getting this week's picks to you, the Football Ranter was at Great Adventure all day and didn't have a chance to post them earlier.
Fun starts after the jump.
Sunday (Early)
San Francisco 49ers at Cincinnati Bengals: Two teams with decent defenses and awful offenses in a mirror match. Bengals get the edge at home over the Niners coming east for a 1pm game. 23-15 Cincinnati.
New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills: The upstart Bills have surprised so far against bad teams, but they finally run into a good one here. New England 34-24.
Houston Texans at New Orleans Saints: NOLA is too good at the Superdome to lose to a still developing defense. Houston will make it close but go down swinging. New Orleans 27-23.
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles won't win as big as most people are predicting, but the Giants secondary just can't hold the Eagles back. Philadelphia 31-27.
Miami Dolphins at Cleveland Browns: The Dolphins are terrible, the Browns are worse. Or are they? Well if they lose to the Dolphins in their own house, it will prove the theory. Miami 19-13.
Denver Broncos at Tennessee Titans: Kyle Orton vs. Matty Nice? Nope, this one is going to be Chris Johnson vs. the "cover your eyes bad" Broncos run defense. I'll take CJ2K. Tennessee 26-20.
Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings: This one has upset potential if AP goes OFF. My call on the radio was a Lions win, but I need to pick an upset special and this is it. Minnesota at home against a mediocre run defense is the best chance they'll have all year to pick up a W. UPSET SPECIAL- Minnesota 24-21.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Carolina Panthers: MJD should have a good game, but the battle of rookie QBs is going to be won by Cam Newton. Carolina 21-16.
Sunday (Late)
Kansas City Chiefs at San Diego Chargers: Do I even have to call this game? San Diego finally finds a team so bad they won't let the Chargers beat themselves. San Diego 31-10.
New York Jets at Oakland Raiders: The Jets had better be careful here. On the road against a team looking to beat someone up after an emotional loss last weekend. I'm taking the Jets because I'm required to, and because Jason "I prefer Progresso Soup" Campbell won't be able to beat the Jets' D. New York 22-20.
Baltimore Ravens at St. Louis Rams: The Rams are just too beat up to handle the Ravens right now, particularly when Ray Lewis and Co. are looking for blood after a loss to a division rival. Baltimore 26-17.
Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: More potential for an upset here as the Falcons are going on the road to a division rival after an emotional home win. Still, the Falcons are just a better team and they'll find a way to pull out a tough win here. Atlanta 27-24.
Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks: I can't believe I'm typing this, but the Seachickens have a shot to win this game. The Cards aren't very good and the 12th man is a big advantage. They won't seal the deal though because they still insist on running Tarvaris Jackson out there at QB. Arizona 20-17.
Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears: Chicago is going to put a fight at home, but GB wins a slugfest. Green Bay 16-13.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts: This probably sounded like a great Sunday night game back when the schedule was made. Now it's an awful laugher that no one is going to want to watch. Pittsburgh 33-13.
Monday Night Football
Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys: At home, the Skins win this game. On the road, they'll lose to Dallas. Unless of course Tony Romo doesn't finish the game. As long as Romo plays, Dallas takes this one. Dallas 26-24.
Until next time, Lunatics.
